Corona Relief Done Quick Starts Today, Here Are Some Highlights
There's plenty to look forward to this weekend.
Summer Games Done Quick 2020 might have been delayed earlier this year, but there's some good news from all of this. Corona Relief Done Quick, a special speedrunning event to raise money for the COVID-19 pandemic, is kicking off later today.
For a complete list of the full schedule across the weekend, head over to the official GamesDoneQuick website. The event begins later today at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET with a Donkey Kong Country speedrun, and the final speedrun of the weekend begins at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET on Sunday with Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix.
But there's plenty of other speedruns to look forward to over the coming few days. Today on Friday, there's the latest DLC for Shovel Knight, Shovel Knight: King of Cards, being run with a target of just 36 minutes, and the classic Halo: Combat Evolved campaign on Legendary difficulty in precisely 90 minutes.
Tomorrow on the Saturday, there's an ambitious Alien: Isolation speedrun starting right around 1:20 a.m. PT/ 4:20 a.m. ET. Slightly later in the day there are two Castlevania games (the original and Dracula's Curse) being speedrun with targets of 30 and 35 minutes, respectively.
Finally on Sunday, April 19, there's the original Metroid starting at 1:04 a.m. PT/4:03 a.m. ET, Ori and the Will of the Wisps later in the morning, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in the early afternoon. It should be an excellent weekend of viewing, and credit to Games Done Quick for putting together this event for COVID-19 relief in just the last few months.
