Crash Bandicoot 4 Will Have a Demo For Those Who Pre-Order

Crash Bandicoot 4 Will Have a Demo For Those Who Pre-Order

Plus, Tawna returns.

The next installment in the adventures of Crash Bandicoot is less than a month away. In case you need a refresher course, there's a demo on the way—though you'll need to pre-order to play it.

Starting Sept. 16, 2020, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time pre-orderers can download a special demo. It'll have two levels from the upcoming game, letting you play as either Crash or Neo Cortex. It's not really a try-before-you-buy though, as the demo will be coming to those who pre-order Crash 4 on the PlayStation or Xbox.

Also revealed today was a new character: Tawna Bandicoot. Though she appears in the first Crash game as his girlfriend, in this iteration, a different Tawna appears from an alternate dimension where she was the hero. She's got a new look and a brand-new hookshot tool, to add her own movement ability in levels. There certainly won't be a shortage of marsupials in this Crash Bandicoot game.

A new Crash Bandicoot game has been a long time coming, and with a number of new characters and movements options being added by developer Toys For Bob, it looks pretty intriguing. Toys For Bob has learned lessons from its work on past remakes, and it saw a fair bit of success with the N. Sane Trilogy. Soon, it'll be time to see if the developer can bring it on home with its own take on Crash Bandicoot.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time launches on Oct. 2, 2020. It'll be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
