Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time was revealed last month as a direct sequel to the original Crash trilogy. Today, developer Toys For Bob has stated that there will be no microtransactions in the upcoming game whatsoever.
"We're seeing confusion about #MTX in @CrashBandicoot 4 and want to be [crystal] clear," the developer wrote on the official Toys For Bob Twitter account earlier today. "There are NO MICROTRANSACTIONS in #Crash4. As a bonus, the Totally Tubular skins are included in all digital versions of the game."
Reddit users had been suspecting that Crash 4 would have microtransactions due to a Microsoft store listing saying it would have them. It at least seems that's not the case, and Crash's adventure will be one singular package.
There is trepidation towards this comment, as Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled added microtransaction after it launched in June last year. The post-launch addition of microtransactions to Crash Team Racing was criticized in part because pre-launch interviews with developer Beenox stated that there wouldn't be microtransactions in the game.
This confirmation is a welcome statmement that hopefully holds up over time. You can head over to read Caty's interview with the developers around the numbered Crash sequel.
