Dark, Gothic Adventure Sunless Sea: Zubmariner Edition is Available Now on PS4

Lovecraft at sea.

Critically-acclaimed adventure game, Sunless Sea: Zubmariner Edition, is available now PlayStation 4. There's a special 15 percent discount to celebrate the launch for PS Plus members as well as a bonus incentive to check out Failbetter's dark seafarer.

Sunless Sea first came out in 2015 on PC. Taking the captainship of a steamboat, players venture out into the dark Unterzee with your crew, charting the waters of Failbetter's Fallen London universe. Encounters with terrifying creatures and bouts with both hunger and the darkness will push your crew to the edge and likely into madness.

The Zubmariner expansion includes the ability to convert the ship into a "submarine" and adding new, undersea locations to explore. The world will also change after each playthrough (when you and your crew die) so be prepared to keep charting unknown waters.

Sunless Sea is available today on PS4 for $18.99, with a limited-time 15 percent discount for PS Plus members. Failbetter is currently working on a sequel, Sunless Skies, though Eurogamer recently reported on troubles as the development studio which caused the sequel to be delayed until 2019.
