Cuphead, Altair, and More Joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Mii Fighter Costumes

Cuphead, Altair, and More Joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Mii Fighter Costumes

Warm up those finger guns.

After revealing Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's fifth DLC fighter, game director Masahiro Sakurai took a brief moment to show off the next selection of Mii Fighter costumes. Joining the fray are Altair of Assassin's Creed, the Rabbids (in hat form), two Mega Man variants, and a surprising, porcelain-headed indie hero.

All five costumes are part of the fifth round of extra Mii Fighter costumes coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, launching on January 28. Each one will be available individually for $0.75. Sakurai also announced that people who purchase the next Fighter Pass, which will be up for pre-order on the same day, will receive an exclusive Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Ancient Soldier costume for the Mii Fighter.

Ubisoft's assassin and those rascally Rabbids kicked off the costume reveal video. Next up was Mega Man X, which will pair nicely with the Zero Mii Fighter costume released for Smash last fall. Mega Man.EXE is arriving as a costume too. So... when's Mega Man Volnutt getting a costume, Nintendo?

Cuphead, though, is the most unexpected reveal of the bunch. While perhaps not jaw-dropping as the Sans from Undertale costume reveal that managed to upstage Banjo, seeing another indie game star dropped into Smash (and from a game that was originally a Microsoft exclusive) is still pretty neat. Also, like Sans, the Cuphead costume will come with an additional music track: Floral Fury, from Cagney Carnation's boss fight stage.
