Dark Souls Remastered Amiibo for Switch Unlocks Praise the Sun Emote Early

Praise the sun!

Today's Nintendo Direct showed off a bit more of what to expect for the Nintendo Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered, including details of a new Dark Souls amiibo to go with the upcoming remaster.

Nintendo announced that there will be a Solaire amiibo coming to the Switch alongside Dark Souls Remastered. The amiibo, when paired with the game, will apparently let players do the "Praise the Sun" emote from the start of the game, which doesn't sound like a whole lot for a game as hard as Dark Souls, but is a kind gesture nonetheless. It is afterall, the unofficial salute of jolly cooperation.

Nintendo also announced that it will be hosting a free Network Test before launch, so players on the Switch can try out Dark Souls on the Switch for free. If it's your first time playing Dark Souls, it will be a good opportunity to check out the game and see if it's right for you.

Dark Souls Remastered was announced earlier this year for the Nintendo Switch, alongside the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. While the latter two versions feature high-resolution graphics, the Switch version will deliver the very first portable version of Dark Souls.

Dark Souls on the Switch will be available on May 25.
