Dead or Alive 6 Season Pass is $93, and That's Only the Beginning

At least if Dead or Alive 5 is any indication.

Dead or Alive might be the most expensive game series in the DLC-era. Don't believe me? The first season pass for the new Dead or Alive 6 is $93. And it doesn't even cover every DLC that could be released for Dead or Alive 6 in the coming months.

The newest Koei Tecmo fighter is known for two things: Oversexualized characters and defenders who want to remind everyone else that underneath all the flesh is a pretty good fighting game. But with recent entries into the series, Dead or Alive is also becoming quite well known for its eye-wateringly expensive DLC packs for fighters and fighter costumes.

Dead or Alive 6 is bursting right out of the gate with a $93 season pass which includes 62 costumes and two fighters from The King of Fighters XIV. Only one King of Fighter character is confirmed so far, and it's Mai Shiranui. An appropriate choice for the Dead or Alive franchise.

Here's what else is included in the first season pass:

  • Happy Wedding Costumes Vol. 1
  • Happy Wedding Costumes Vol. 2
  • Costume Pack Vol. 1
  • Costume Pack Vol. 2
  • Additional Character Mai Shiarnui
  • Additional New Character
  • Additional New Character Debut Costumes

The downloadable content will be rolling out over the next three months. But it should noted that there is a disclaimer on the DLC page that says Koei Tecmo could release even more DLC content that's not covered by the season pass. So, you'll have to buy those separately, even after spending almost $100 on the first season pass.

Considering how the DLC for Dead or Alive 5 reached past $1,000, I wouldn't be surprised if Dead or Alive 6 only becomes more expensive as more costumes and season passes are announced. But hey, at least you'll get some nice wedding dress costumes out of it.
