Antony Johnston wrote the original Dead Space with Visceral back in 2008, and has a string of additional video game writing credits since then. This week though, he's urging followers to tune into the upcoming PlayStation 5 games reveal event on Thursday.
Why? It would seem as though Johnston's next project is about to be unveiled at the PS5 event on Thursday, June 11. Going by the tweet from the author just below, he's been working on the mysterious game for close to two years.
Johnston followed up with another tweet saying "you play a character having a real bad time." Any guesses as to what Johnston's game being revealed on Thursday actually is? Sorry, it's definitely not a new Dead Space, as much as we all want the horror franchise to be revived in some form.
Does that mean the new game is horror-themed? Not necessarily. Johnston poked fun at the idea of him having a "reputation" for horror games on Twitter what with plenty of people jumping to conclusions about the nature of his new game.
Whatever this new game might actually be, we only have to wait until tomorrow to find out. The big PS5 games event is kicking off on Thursday, June 11 at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET. There's been teases all around for potential games, but so far, there's been zero confirmed games for the showcase. But when has that ever stopped speculation about, say, Silent Hill or Resident Evil 8 showing up?
