Delayed Battlefield 5 Update Releases Tomorrow

The first free content drop for Battlefield 5.

After a day's delay Battlefield 5's first major content update for the Tides of War will launch tomorrow and will include a new story mode and multiplayer map.

Titled Chapter 1: Overture, the first Tides of War update was supposed to release today but was delayed due to some kind of technical issue. EA DICE says the problems have been resolved and that Overture is "locked and loaded" for launch tomorrow December 5, 2018. You can see a trailer below.

The update adds The Last Tiger story chapter which puts players in the shoes of Nazi commander Peter Muller who leads the German's panzer tank division. It will be interesting to see how DICE handles a story mode where players take the role of the German side in World War 2.

In the multiplayer side a new map called Panzerstorm will be released and it looks basically like a tank free-for-all. New guns, skins, and other content drops will also be included with the update.

Tides of War is Battlefield 5's ongoing content roadmap which will see free content releases for Battlefield 5 in the post-launch months. This also includes the battle royale mode slated for early next year.
