Destiny 2 August Roadmap Revealed, Weapon Slot Changes Coming Before Forsaken DLC

Some of the big changes in the Destiny 2 Forsaken expansion are actually set to launch early.

Bungie has revealed the upcoming roadmap of changes that'll be arriving in Destiny 2 over the next two months. There are brand new features for August, plus more coming alongside the paid Forsaken DLC expansion.

You can see the full list of changes that Bungie will be introducing to Destiny 2 just below. There are changes that have already been implemented in June and July, but also several key changes that are coming in August and September.

Namely, weapon slot changes will be arriving next month in August, for all Destiny 2 players. Bungie originally revealed that they'd be scrapping kinetic, energy, and power energy slots as part of the Forsaken DLC that releases in September, but it now appears these changes will launch outside of the DLC, in August.

This means that from August 28, you'll be able to equip your weapons into whichever slot you please in Destiny 2, no matter if they're a power, energy, or kinetic weapon. Heroic Story Missions will also be rolled out in the August update for Destiny 2, as will the 200 additional Vault slots.

The Forsaken DLC will be launching in September, but there'll also be three new Crucible maps, a new Crucible mode, Power advantages in both Iron Banner and Trials of the Nine, and many more changes outside of the paid DLC.

For all you need to know about the upcoming third DLC pack for Destiny 2, Forsaken, which is set to launch on September 4, head over to our Destiny 2 Forsaken guide.
