Destiny 2 Crimson Days Rewards Address Loot Drop Concerns

Bungie seems to be responding to a lot of player complaints with how loot drops for Crimson Days.

Bungie will once again be holding a Crimson Days Valentine's Event for Destiny 2, as the studio did with the first Destiny. You can expect a whole bunch of red and heart-themed emotes and accessories when Crimson Days begins on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 13.

Like previous Crimson Days, this year will see the return of a special 2v2 Crucible game mode where two players will work together to defeat the other team, but with some special modifiers. Staying in close proximity to your teammate will help recharge your special abilities faster, while moving further away from your partner will not only revert your recharge to a slower pace, but also signals your location to the other team.

There is also a new version of the Burning Shrine map for Destiny 2 called The Burnout, set in an alternate future timeline where the Vex won.

Bungie announced that the developers "tuned the experience to focus on rewarding single-character play," and that the Crimson Engram contains most of the new rewards without duplicates. Moreover, duplicate rewards will not be handed out until after you've gotten all the new gear.

Bungie posted some of the new gear in its blog post last week, including a Crimson Days-themed Ghost, Sparrow, and some emotes and animations.

In response to some of the complaints by the community, most of the Crimson Engrams will only be available through gameplay, though select items can be purchased from Eververse for Bright Dust. You will need to be at level cap to purchase these items, so 25 for players with the latest DLC, 20 for base game users.

There will also be other items that can be obtained through methods outside of Engrams, like the Exotic sparrow, Crimson Days Emblem, Tirastrella Ghost Shell, Diselpunk Exotic Ornament, and the Flaunting Dance Emote. These include completing the Crimson Days milestones, completing the Crimson Days playlists, or finishing Raids and Nightfall Strike during Crimson Days.

Crimson Days will run from February 13 to February 20.
