Destiny 2 Faction Rally For This Week Already Has An Exploit

If you throw a whole bunch of people at a problem, they'll come up with an exploit.

If the last Faction Rally in Destiny 2 taught us anything, it's that people will find any method to make their Faction token grind just a bit shorter. There was exploit in the previous rally, but Bungie hotfixed it and made changes to prevent the same thing from happening this time. Unfortunately, when the Faction Rally went live this week, players quickly found a new exploit.

According to a video posted on Youtube by user xHoundishx, players can net 500 tokens within an hour. Sure, you can do the same if you knuckle down and apply yourself, but who wants to do that?

Here's a handy step-by-by guide from another user on Reddit, if video isn't your thing.

  • Zone into Winding Cove on EDZ
  • Run a bit north and head down the hole into the Lost Sector
  • Defeat the boss, get the chest
  • Directly above the chest is a door that you can use to get back to the surface. As you're walking up, as soon as you see the "Winding Cove" area load, turn around, head back to the chest, and you can loot it again. Back through the door, wait for "Winding Cove", and back to the chest to loot again. Rinse and repeat this step.

Of course, Bungie will probably hotfix this exploit too, so if you want your tokens, you better get in there. Also, if you're found purposefully exploiting, that can be against the Terms of Service for many online games, meaning you could lose your ill-gotten gains or be banned completely. Go at your own risk.
