The next expansion of Destiny 2 is on its way. Lapsed Xbox players will have a chance to catch up before November 10, though, as two expansions are headed to Microsoft's game subscription service.
Forsaken and Shadowkeep, two of Destiny 2's past DLC expansions, are headed to Xbox Game Pass today. The base Destiny 2 was already free to play, and with both expansions on Game Pass, Xbox subscribers will be able to blast through all the story content leading up to Beyond Light.
Confirmed in today's Xbox Wire blog, Destiny 2: Beyond Light will be available on Nov. 10 via Xbox Game Pass, and it will support next-gen systems like the Series X and Series S. For those who are upgrading early, or holding off while their friends do, the update won't split the fireteam. Destiny 2 is supporting cross-gen crossplay, so as long as you stay on the same console family, everyone can still play.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light is also coming to PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as PC. This new expansion will be the first of several Bungie has planned for the coming year, but also Destiny's big leap into the next generation of consoles. Hopefully the transition goes smoothly. In the meantime, looks like now's a good chance to get caught up on what's been going on in Destiny 2.
