Destiny 2 Hotfix Re-opens Events For Those Without Curse of Osiris

Destiny 2 Hotfix Re-opens Events For Those Without Curse of Osiris

Iron Banner and Faction Rally are open to everyone now.

When the Curse of Osiris expansion launched for Destiny 2, it inadvertently locked players out of events they previously had access to. If you loved participating in the Faction Rallies or doing the Iron Banner before, you now needed Curse of Osiris to enjoy that content. Players were understandably upset by this.

In a hotfix update going live this week, Bungie is fixing the the problem. The hotfix will launch after this week's server maintenance and will open the Iron Banner and Faction Rallies to all players again. Seriously, that's all the hotfix does.

The full patch notes:

Iron Banner

  • Players who do not own Curse of Osiris may once again access Iron Banner when available

Faction Rallies

  • Players who do not own Curse of Osiris may once again pledge to Factions during Faction Rally events

There's no word as to when those events will begin again in Destiny 2, but according to community manager David Dague, those updates will be coming soon.
