Destiny 2 Iron Banner Returns Next Week With 6v6 Battles

So long 4v4.

Destiny 2 announced the return of the 6v6 Iron Banner multiplayer mode next week on April 17. The limited mode will arrive as part of next week's reset.

If you recall, Bungie decided to replace 6v6 PvP battles from the first Destiny with 4v4 battles in Destiny 2. This caused a lot of consternation among fans, and was quickly an early grievance for players jumping into Bungie's Destiny sequel.

With next week's Iron Banner, the classic 6v6 battles return. The Iron Banner was originally set for this week, but was delayed as a result of a bug. Instead Bungie currently as the Rumble playlist in the Crucible.

The loss of 6v6 PvP in Destiny 2 was one of the things we cited during our deep dive into how Destiny 2 failed its players. But thanks to a recent content roadmap announcement which also revealed the next expansion, Warmind, Destiny is continuing to tinker and fix Destiny 2.

After a drop-off in players, Bungie announced a huge development roadmap that promised to fix the biggest problems with Destiny 2. That meant fixing the game's speed, weapon powers, loot economy, and more. We also wrote some ideas about how Destiny 2 can save itself.
