Destiny 2 Makes Surprise Appearance in September's Free PS Plus Games Lineup Ahead of Forsaken Release
Destiny 2 is also available right now on PS Plus.
Sony announced the free games lineup for September's PlayStation Plus and leading the pack is Destiny 2. That's right, Bungie's newest MMOFPS will be part of the free games PS Plus members can have access to as part of their membership. What's more Destiny 2 is available now, a week early.
Sony says that this is so PS Plus members can enjoy the 24-hour free trial of Destiny 2: Forsaken's Gambit, the new hybrid PvP/PvE mode coming with the expansion. This should also definitely help get players into Destiny 2 before the major Forsaken expansion drops September 4.
Destiny 2 has suffered some setbacks since launch with players complaining about certain changes to Destiny's design, as well as the lack of endgame content. Bungie promised to address these issues and have made significant changes to Destiny 2 since unveiling their Year 2 content roadmap.
The other major PS4 title coming to PS Plus in September is God of War 3 Remastered. You'll have to wait until it's actually September to play that one, but if you've finished the new God of War and want to revisit Kratos during a simpler, more violent time, then this is your chance to do so.
The rest of the month includes Another World – 20th Anniversary Edition (PS3), QUBE Director's Cut (PS3, Cross Buy with PS4), Sparkle 2 (Vita, Cross Buy with PS3 & PS4), Foul Play (Vita, Cross Buy with PS4), and Here They Lie (PSVR). Just as a reminder, PS Vita games will no longer be included in PS Plus subscriptions starting March next year.
