Just a head's up, Destiny 2 is going down for maintenance today for about six hours. The maintenance should already be under way, so if you're wondering why Destiny 2 isn't working properly, this is why.
Destiny 2 server maintenance is starting now. Players are no longer able to log in to Destiny 2. Players currently online will be returned to the title screen by 9 AM PST. Bungie hosts server maintenances on a fairly regular basis, but today's update was pushed back a day. Originally servers were meant to go offline yesterday, November 30, but was delayed.
Bungie's been having a bit of a busy week considering the Destiny 2 team had to scrap a planned livestream for the upcoming Curse of Osiris DLC earlier this week. Instead, it issued a blog outlining all the new quality of life improvements Bungie will be implementing into the game in the coming weeks and months, much to the relief of players who've been demanding more end-game content for months now.
Bungie also addressed the recent trouble with XP and leveling, promising players that it is working on a way for players to level faster now that the XP requirements have been raised to 1600 XP.
Expect Destiny 2 servers to come back at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET. Players still in Destiny 2 activities at 9 AM PT/12 PM ET will be kicked back to the title screen.
