Update: Actually Bungie finished maintenance almost two hours ahead of schedule. The company released a full list of patches that rolled in with the update.
The patch notes detail the new Masterwork armors which players have a chance at getting in any legendary armor drop. Any non-Masterwork armor can also be upgraded into a Masterwork for five Masterwork Cores and 20 Legendary Shards.
There's also a higher chance of getting a Masterwork armor from Trials of the Nine or raids.
For a full list of changes, refer to Bungie's Patch Notes.
Original Story: Destiny 2 servers are offline right now and will be for the next few hours as a big patch is readying to go live later today.
Server maintenances are no strangers in Bungie's live shooter, but have no fear. If all goes as planned servers should be back up later today. Servers first went down at 8 am PT/ 11 am ET, and are expected to last until 12 pm PT/3 pm ET. If you're still on the servers at 9 am PT, expect to be booted from the game.
Version 1.1.2 is the first major update to Destiny 2 in 2018, and Bungie outlined the changes in a blog post last week. The changes are meant to directly address player feedback, which in recent weeks and months has been mostly negative. The new patch aims to improve raid loot, revise the Iron Banner, and introduce Masterwork armor.
