Destiny 2's next expansion has seemingly leaked ahead of Bungie's livestream event this Thursday. The new expansion is reportedly titled Shadowkeep and will let players return to the Moon location.
Dataminers have unearthed a banner ad for the next Destiny 2 expansion, Shadowkeep. The banner says that the expansion is set to release this fall. The story seems to take place on the Moon, a location from the first Destiny that isn't available in Destiny 2.
According to the banner, "terrifying shadows descend upon a forgotten moon" and players must journey into a mysterious enemy citadel, presumably the Shadowkeep. Additional datamines suggests that the enemy for Shadowkeep will be a new variant of the Hive.
Destiny 2 Shadowkeep has yet to be confirmed, but it looks to be another Forsaken-style expansion instead of a season pass-style content calendar. The first Destiny released two large expansions, The Taken King and Rise of Iron. This could be Destiny 2's second large content expansion following Forsaken.
This will be Bungie's first Destiny 2 expansion since parting ways with Activision. Destiny 2 recently launched the Season of Opulence, the third content season for 2019 following the Season of the Drifter and Season of the Forge. Unlike Forsaken, these seasonal content drops are accessible with a season pass, not expansion DLC.
