Destiny - Beltrik, the Veiled Bounty

Destiny - Beltrik, the Veiled Bounty

Complete the Beltrik, the Veiled Bounty.

This page will show you how to find and kill Beltrik, the Veiled at the Ember Caves on Venus. This is part of the Destiny: House of Wolves Expansion.

This Bounty can be obtained by visiting The Reef and speaking with Petra Venj. If she has this Bounty in stock, grab it. If she does not, you can still hunt and kill this target and claim a reward, you just won’t get the Experience and Queen’s Wrath Reputation for your troubles. You still have a shot to earn a Legendary Engram from the Ether Chest, so there’s no harm in doing this at any time.

Wanted: Beltrik, the Veiled

  • Experience: 4,500
  • QW Reputation: 250

With the Bounty in hand (or not) set a course for Venus and choose the Patrol option. When you spawn in, grab your Sparrow and turn to the left. You will only need to drive a short way along the only available path until you reach an area called the Ember Caves. It’s here that Beltrik, the Veiled will eventually show up, but you may have to wait about 10 minutes. This depends on the last time the target was in the area, so the event could start at any moment.

Wait for a message in the bottom left hand corner of your screen that notifies you about the Wolves, at which point you’ll see a Fallen Skiff dropping off some enemies. They differ from the normal drops in that they tend to be level 28 and up, and the first wave will have two Scorch Captains. Kill these foes, and then pick up their Scorch Cannons, a valuable weapon for the rest of the fight.

As soon as the first wave is cleared you’ll have to deal with several more. You can easily clear the next few out with the two Scorch Cannons that were dropped, as these contain 10 rounds per cannon, and do not expire after a certain amount of time. In fact, if you play your cards right you can even use them to weaken Beltrik, the Veiled, who shows up during the final wave.

Speaking of your primary target, Beltrik will be the toughest of all the enemies you have to face here, and can really mess up your day if you let him get close. For that reason, attack Beltrik, the Veiled from a distance (preferably high up), relying on Heavy Weapons and Grenades to do the most damage. If there are several Guardians doing this it should go fairly smoothly, but if you are going solo you will want to take your time and be safe. Just keep doing continuous damage and watching your health.

When Beltrik, the Veiled finally does fall you will see a message in the bottom left hand corner of your screen that says you have 90 seconds to use an Ether Key. This key unlocks a chest that will sit in one of four locations in this area, and you can tell the chest because it will have a small beam of light shooting out of the top of it. The four locations you can find it are as follows;

  • To the right and below the cave entrance to the Winters Run Strike.
  • Right from where you entered the area, at the opening of another path.
  • On the platform close to the entrance of the Winters Run Strike.
  • At the base of a slanted rock next to several puddles of water and rocks.

When Beltrik, the Veiled is dead and you have opened your chest using the Ether Key, head back to Orbit and make your way to The Reef. Once there, speak with Petra Venj and claim your reward. Of course, if you have other Bounties that you want to knock off, you can visit out Destiny: House of Wolves Guide to continue your journey.
