This article will serve as our main guide to Destiny: The Taken King. We’ll cover everything that you need to know for Year 2, including how to complete story missions, quests, bounties, Strikes, and even the new King’s Fall Raid, where Guardians will be forced to take on Oryx. In addition to all of that, we will provide you tips for Armsday, the best new subclass between the Nightstalker, Stormcaller and Sunbreaker, and how to make the most out of Exotic Blueprints.
Of course, there are some general things you should know before you start roaming the galaxy in Year 2, so here are a few tips and notes to get you off on the right foot.
- The new maximum level is 40, and the way that you reach it has been changed to earning XP. This makes completing story missions and bounties a top priority.
- Your vault space has been doubled, which should cut down on the stress involved with managing your weapons, armor and resources, at least for a little while.
- There are kiosks set up all over the Tower to allow you to preview shaders, emblems, ships and other vehicles. Be sure to take a tour when you arrive.
- The Hall of Guardians now features kiosks for Abandoned Quests, Exotic Weapon Blueprints and Exotic Armor Blueprints. We’ll cover these in more depth shortly.
- Armsday is now every Wednesday, and visiting the Gunsmith will allow you to test out new weapons without having to pay for them. You’ll also earn reputation.

Visit Ikora Rey at the Tower to unlock this quest line. Completing all three will reward you with the Voidwalker’s Bond, Sunsinger’s Bond and Stormcaller’s Bond.
This quest will only take you about 10 minutes from start to finish, and half of it is playing with your new super ability.
Find Commander Zavala in the Hall of Guardians to start three new quests. If you complete them all you will unlock the Defender’s Mark, Striker’s Mark and Sunbreaker’s Mark.

Speaking with Cayde-6 in the Hall of Guardians will allow you to complete three quests. Upon doing so you will earn the Bladedancer’s Cloak, Gunslinger’s Cloak and Nightstalker’s Cloak.
This might be the easiest to unlock of all the new subclasses, and the bow is a lot of fun to play with. Get ready to spam your super ability.

Destiny: The Taken King Story Missions Walkthrough
The first mission of The Taken King will set the tone for the DLC, and the only difficult part would be the fight against Syrok.
Cayde has stashed a Stealth Drive that you can use to infiltrate the Dreadnaught, and of course he wants you to go and retrieve it.
Your first trip aboard the Dreadnaught will be a creepy one, but there is still business to be handled. Shut down the power sources.
