Detective Pikachu is Coming to Nintendo Switch

Detective Pikachu is Coming to Nintendo Switch

It's unclear if this is a sequel or complete edition.

During today's Pokemon press conference, Pokemon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara talked a bit about the recent release of the Detective Pikachu movie. As it turns out, the Detective Pikachu game ended on a cliffhanger, and Tsunekazu announced that cliffhanger will be resolved on the Nintendo Switch.

It's unclear whether or not Detective Pikachu on the Nintendo Switch will be a sequel or a complete version of the original 3DS version. But either way, Tsunekazu confirmed that the story from the original 3DS version will be finished on the Switch.

Tsunekazu didn't announce a release date, or even a trailer or visual for the Detective Pikachu game coming to the Switch. But given its success on the big screen and 3DS screen, it looks like the Pokemon Company is keeping the mystery train rolling.

Detective Pikachu is the first live-action Pokemon movie in the series. We got a chance to watch it in theaters and came away impressed with the off-kilter, but faithful, adaptation of the source material. Detective Pikachu went on to become one of the best performing, and best reviewed video game movies of all time.
