Here's something I didn't see coming in today's PlayStation 5 games showcase: Devi May Cry 5 is coming to next-gen consoles! Called Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, the game will be available on the PS5 on day one.
A big focus for the trailer was Vergil, the overarching antagonist for Devil May Cry 5. It looks like Vergil will have brand new playable segments for the special edition of the game, whereas he was previously only playable in the Bloody Palace DLC content in the original release.
This is just the perfect excuse I need to give Devil May Cry 5 another run. I absolutely adored the action game when it launched back in early 2019, just another in the long line of recent successes for a revitalized Capcom.
Aside from that though, there aren't too many details on what to expect from the re-release of Devil May Cry 5 right now. We know that it'll be available on launch day for the PlayStation 5, but it'll be a digital only release. We also don't currently know if it'll be free for those who already own the game on PS4.
