Devil May Cry Director's Next Project "Progressing Smoothly"

Hideaki Itsuno is working on something, but it wasn't ready for E3 2017.

Capcom has director Hideaki Itsuno is working on something. Itsuno was the director of Devil May Cry 2, 3, and 4, in addition to Dragon's Dogma. At the end of December, Itsuno teased fans on Twitter, saying that he had a new game to announce this year.

Now he's saying that while work on his game is going well, it wasn't ready to show at E3 2017.

Many fans are hoping for Devil May Cry 5, but the game could also be a sequel to Dragon's Dogma. Itsuno's previous title, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, will be seeing a release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this Fall. That release window would be just in time for a Dragon's Dogma 2 announcement at Tokyo Game Show 2017.

Either way, there's more Itsuno goodness in our future.

Third-person action-adventure games are his personal poison: Uncharted, Infamous, and Assassin's Creed just to name a few. If you see him around a convention, he's not hard to spot: Black guy, glasses, and a tie.
