God of War Locks Out Red Dead Redemption 2 and Celeste for Top DICE Awards

God of War Locks Out Red Dead Redemption 2 and Celeste for Top DICE Awards

Kratos takes an axe to the competition.

Tonight the 22nd annual D.I.C.E. Awards were handed out in Las Vegas, and Sony Santa Monica came away as the clear winner. Not only did God of War sweep most of the awards, but no other game of the year contender, except Celeste, walked away with two or more awards.

Sony Santa Monica’s God of War was a strong contender in last year’s game of the year debates, but you couldn’t tell it was a crowded field from the way the D.I.C.E. Awards played out. The 2018 God of War reboot took home eight awards, including Game of the Year. It was far and away the most awards for any of the Game of the Year nominees. Celeste came in second with two awards, and contenders like Marvel’s Spider-Man and Red Dead Redemption 2 walked away with one a piece.

Here are the full list of winners from tonight’s D.I.C.E. Awards.
