Ditto Finally, Stealthily Released into Pokémon Go

New Pokemon appears, disguised as existing Pokemon.

Niantic has, finally, added the highly sought-after Ditto to Pokemon Go, just in time for some seasonal Thanksgiving hunting. Although not a legendary Pokemon, Ditto has long been cherished among Pokemon fans for its mimic ability, which means it can ape any creature it comes across.

Accordingly, you won't see it on the map during your normal Pokemon hunting - it's disguised as other, lesser Pokemon. Catch an unremarkable Pidgey, Rattata or Magikarp and it stands a chance of revealing itself as a Ditto once inside your Pokeball. There's (seemingly) no way of spotting this ahead of time, so it'll be a nice bonus for standard Pokehunts.

Not a bad way to prompt everybody to fire up Pokemon Go over the holiday break - particularly after Niantic already announced that it's granting double XP and Stardust to Pokemon Go during Thanksgiving.
