Do You Need PS Plus and An Online Connection to Play Dreams?

The newest creativity tool for the PS4, Dreams allows players to build all sorts of games, animations and more to share with their friends, not to mention playing with others along the way. We'll explain if you need PS Plus Membership and an internet connection to get the most out of this game.

Do You Need PS Plus to Play Dreams?

No, you don't. Dreams is largely played online in one form or another, but at time of writing none of its content or functionality is locked behind a PS Plus Membership. Those who do and don't own PS Plus will have the same experience, a rarity concerning online PS4 games.

Do I Need An Internet Connection to Play Dreams?

Mostly, yes, but it is still possible to play some of it without being online. Players will still be able to do Dream Shaping - building their own creations - but won't be able to upload their work, access the Community Jams, or play any creations that weren't pre-installed in Dreams by Media Molecule themselves. You essentially play alone when you play online, and we'd argue it's an essential enough component of the game that you should definitely be online when you play.
