Does Days Gone Have Multiplayer?

Days Gone is the latest first-party effort from Sony. It definitely focuses heavily on character development and story, but is there any multiplayer functionality?

Days Gone is finally out, and seems to make good on its initial promise of huge zombie hordes and cross-country motorcycle adventuring. It’s a story-driven affair, focusing on biker Deacon St. John as he struggles to find his place in a dangerous new world, but that hasn’t stopped many from wondering whether Days Gone has a multiplayer mode. In this Days Gone Multiplayer Guide, we’ll be taking a look at whether or not Days Gone has Multiplayer. We’ll also take a look at the planned DLC to see if there are any plans for new multiplayer components post-launch.

Does Days Gone Have Multiplayer

Days Gone is a new first-party PS4 exclusive from Sony. It is developed by Bend Studios, which previously worked on Siphon Filter, and Uncharted Golden Abyss. They are very much a single-player focused studio, so it’s unsurprising that Days Gone is a single-player game through and through. There is no multiplayer functionality in Days Gone currently, only the main campaign which is played solo.

Is Multiplayer Being Added to Days Gone in the Future

As you may know already, Days Gone is set to get some post-launch content. At the time of writing, we know about one update set to arrive very soon indeed. It will add a new difficulty mode, and also new challenges which will reward players with custom bike skins upon completion. From the info released so far, it looks like these challenges will be weekly, but will be single-player. It is possible that Bend may add leaderboards to these challenges at some point in the future, but for now at least it looks as though Days Gone will remain a strictly solo affair.
