The weaponry of Doom Eternal is as delightful as it is deadly, and very little compares to the famously deadly Super Shotgun, which makes a return, now upgraded with the new "Meat Hook" mod. We'll go over how to get the Super Shotgun and Grappling Hook mod attachment here.

Where and When Do You Get the Super Shotgun in Doom Eternal?
Don't worry, you can't miss it: the Super Shotgun is a plot-mandatory weapon that can be found about halfway through the third campaign mission at the snowy Cultist Base. However, you'll have to do something a little different to get it - after getting into the base itself, you'll come across a pair of waist-high stone pillars with yellow glowing orbs. Interact with them and the Doom Slayer will place his hands on them, activating a magic ritual that'll allow you to possess a Revenant demon held prisoner in an iron maiden opposite. The Revenant will then be let loose in an outside area with numerous other demons - and the Super Shotgun, held in a floating cage above you.
How to Get the Super Shotgun
Now you're in the arena, you'll have to play as the revenant and kill all the demons. When you do, the Super Shotgun's cage will lower and the energy bars will vanish, allowing you to take it.
The controls to the revenant are displayed on the left, and you'll notice it plays a lot different to the Slayer: you can't Glory Kill, you can fly for short periods of time, your health bar is a lot bigger (but doesn't regenerate), and your main attack is your missile cannons. It's honestly not a hard fight, just keep strafing through the air and you'll probably have more than half your health by the time it's over. Once they're all dead, grab the Shotgun and head back to where you entered the arena. Control will be handed over to the Slayer along with this most prized of weapons.
How to Get the Meat Hook Grappling Hook Mod
The Meat Hook is actually built into the Super Shotgun when you get it; the only mod available for the weapon. This means you'll be able to use it almost immediately: in fact, you'll have to in order to get over a gap nearby.
How to Use the Super Shotgun and Meat Hook
The Super Shotgun is one of the most powerful weapons in the game, using up two shotgun shells with every blast and having to be reloaded immediately. It's got a very short range, but the Meat Hook makes up for that: Press L2 or the Left Trigger when aiming at an enemy, and the Meat Hook will fire, latch onto them, and rapidly pull you towards them, giving you the chance to fire at close range. It's got a short recharge, but it's still one of the best mods around.
