Doomguy and Isabelle Are Teaming Up in Some Adorable Crossover Art [Correction]

Doomguy and Isabelle Are Teaming Up in Some Adorable Crossover Art [Correction]

Doom and Animal Crossing communities are welcoming each other with open arms.

Update [02/20]: We mistakenly attributed the header image of Isabelle and Doomguy to Reddit. The actual artist is @devoradordeflan on Twitter.

The story follows:

In case you haven't heard, Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons are releasing on exactly the same day: March 20. As two polar opposite games, you wouldn't expect Doomguy and Isabelle to get on well, right?

Wrong. According to both the Doom and Animal Crossing communities, the pair get on like a house on fire. For a couple weeks now, artists from both communities have been depicting both characters together in their respective games.

I love, love, love this crossover stuff from the two communities. It's absolutely perfect to see the two interacting with one another, especially since people from the Doom community post art of Isabelle in the Animal Crossing subreddit, and vice versa.

I can see Isabelle really in her element trying to get the demons of hell to file paperwork properly. I don't know if I can really see Doomguy living a nice peaceful life in a town where he's permanently indebted to a tanooki, though.

Even the Doom Twitter account is joining in. When Nintendo finally announced its upcoming Animal Crossing-centered Nintendo Direct, the Doom account quickly replied, asking if Isabelle would be there.

The best chance we have of Doomguy and Isabelle actually appearing in the same game together is probably Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Then again, I can't really see Masahiro Sakurai and co. being too keen on adding an ultra-violent killer to their game, nor do I really want Doomguy and Isabelle to actually fight each other.

Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons launch in perfect harmony on March 20, 2020. We recently played Doom Eternal for ourselves in a special preview, and there's a brand new Nintendo Direct focusing on Animal Crossing taking place tomorrow on February 20.
