Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ, showing off the game's story campaign. We're light on story here, but it looks like there's a another dark future that someone is trying to prevent from coming to pass. The highlight of the trailer is the game's amazing animated presentation and the new character Android 21.
Android 21 is a new character whose design was supervised by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama. Is she friend or foe? It's probably foe, because Androids rarely have a friendly starting point.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is shaping up to be a winner. The beta showed a game from Arc System Works that carries forward some of the ideas from BlazBlue and Guilty Gear Xrd, with some tweaks to make everything feel more Dragon Ball Z. And the presentation–from the combat, to the moves, to the camera angles Arc System Works chose for certain actions–just adds up to a great Dragon Ball Z/Super game so far.
The currently-announced roster of fighters includes Goku, Vegeta, Gohan (Teenage), Trunks (Future), Krillin, Piccolo, Android 18, Android 16, Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, Frieza, Cell, and the Super Saiyan Blue versions of Goku and Vegeta. Dragon Ball FighterZ is currently scheduled for release in February 2018 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
