Dragon Quest Builders 2 is Coming Out for PS4 and Nintendo Switch

Better than the sum of its parts.

Square Enix announced Dragon Quest Builders 2 over the weekend, and it will be coming out for both the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.

I like to call Dragon Quest Builders 2, Minecraft-esque, but that would do a disservice to how charming the first Dragon Quest Builders was, and how it incorporated RPG elements to its building mechanics. The sequel looks to improve upon the first game by adding even more abilities and features including the ability to travel underwater, a hang glider for travel, and co-op multiplayer with up to four players.

There is no release date yet for Dragon Quest Builders 2, but if you haven't checked out Dragon Quest Builders yet, I highly recommend it. The game is charming in a way that I didn't expect at first, and once the hurdle of comparing the game directly to Minecraft falls away, you'll find that Square Enix has done more than necessary to build out (heh) its own construction game instead of just doing a "Popular X meets Popular Y" kind of game. Don't just take my word for it though, USgamer is full of writers who can't stop picking at this interesting RPG hybrid.
