Dying Light 2 Gets a Surprisingly Emotional New Trailer

Dying Light 2 Gets a Surprisingly Emotional New Trailer

Techland is back with a vengeance for Dying Light 2.

Dying Light 2 revealed a new trailer today during Xbox's E3 2019 press conference. This is the best look at Dying Light 2 since it was announced at E3 2018.

The new trailer introduces the protagonist of Dying Light 2, Aiden Caldwell, as well as the post-apocalyptic setting. Caldwell is a parkouring, infected survivor fighter, making him a deadly force in The City.

Set 15 years after the events of the first Dying Light, humanity is in pretty bad shape. Forced to deal with violent human factions, and an infected horde that comes out at night, it's a sad state for humanity.

Players must utilize the parkour abilities from the first Dying Light, while navigating between two dangerous forces: violent human factions on one side, and infected monsters on the other.

RPG writer Chris Avellone is writing the sequel for Techland. Avellone has told journalists that Dying Light 2 will offer branching dialogues, and Techland is hoping to create a more reactive world. Indicating there's a stronger focus on story and personal narrative this time around.

Composer Olivier Deriviere, of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag – Freedom Cry, and Vampyr fame will be scoring the sequel for Techland.

Also, on display in the new trailer is Techland's new graphics technology, the C-Engine. This is Techland's own proprietary graphics engine.

Dying Light 2 is scheduled to release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in Spring 2020. For more, check out our Microsoft E3 2019 guide for more coverage of today's Xbox press event.
