Axe of the Blood God 108: Pokémon Ultra Sun & Moon and an E3 2017 Preview
USgamer's Kat and Nadia co-hosted podcast has big dreams for E3. Like a new Bethesda RPG, for starters.

E3 2017 looks set to be one of the most exciting in recent memory. With Nintendo set to show off what it’s cooking for the Switch, Sony keen to cement its position as the market leader with the PS4, and Microsoft desperate to claw back consumer interest with the Xbox Scorpio, the scene is set for a thrilling battle.

On this E3 2017 hub we’ll give you the full E3 2017 Press Conference Timetable with start times for all the major time zones (because we’re nice like that), round up the biggest E3 2017 rumours, and make some bold (some might say idiotic) predictions about what we might see at E3 and how likely all these things are to actually happen.

If we hear a crazy rumour about Rockstar's Agent coming back to life during Sony's E3 2017 press conference, we'll let you know. If we catch wind of Sony planning to reveal PS Vita 2 (LOL), we'll add all the info. If we are sent a leaked picture of PGR5... we'll start to cry tears of joy. You get the idea.

E3 2017 Press Conference Schedule - Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo (Direct), Bethesda, Ubisoft, and EA (sort of)

If you live in the US (and we reckon a lot of you do given the website you’re reading this on), the conferences are all during hours normal humans are expected to be awake, but you may have to sneakily watch some of the presentations while at work.

If you live in Europe you’re going to have a couple of very late nights if you want to watch everything live. For example, Bethesda’s E3 2017 conference starts at 3am BST on the Monday morning, while Sony’s kicks off at 2am BST on Tuesday morning. And that’s if they start one time, which they never do! We recommend Red Bull and coffee. If Red Bull is a bit pricey you’ll find your local supermarket will stock an equally unpleasant knock-off. Enjoy!

If you’re planning to watch as much E3 2017 coverage as possible, YouTube with Geoff Keighley looks like it’s going to be a good option. This year YouTube will be streaming over 17 hours of live E3 coverage in 4K Ultra HD, including all the press conferences. That’ll be perfect for seeing all the new games announced for PS4 Pro and the first footage of games running on Xbox Scorpio.

YouTube’s live coverage of E3 2017 will include appearances from YouTubers AngryJoe, Ali-A, iJustine, MatPat, Nadeshot and Vikkstar.

EA Play 2017 Conference Start Times:

  • West Coast US: 12pm (PDT)
  • East Coast US: 3pm (EDT)
  • UK: 8pm (BST)
  • Europe: 9pm (CEST)

What to Expect From EA Play 2017

Guaranteed to be at EA Play 2017 are FIFA 18, Star Wars Battlefront 2, the next Need for Speed, Madden 18, and the Star Wars game being developed with Amy Hennig at Visceral. EA will likely introduce at least one smaller title (like it did with Unravel), and maybe a surprise (we can dream about Sakte 4, right?). Will we see anything on Mass Effect Andromeda or is that game now a bit of a pariah? What of a Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster? Probably not, but we can hope.

What to Expect From the Xbox E3 2017 Press Conference

E3 2017 needs to be big for Microsoft. After four years playing second fiddle to Sony due to a bungled Xbox One launch the company needs to hit it out of the park with Xbox Scorpio. Expect a final name for the system, plus hopefully a release date and a price. With new hardware to show off the company will generate a lot of buzz, but convincing more than the hardcore to jump into the Xbox ecosystem will require a solid line-up of awesome looking new games. Something Halo related is expected to be shown, although it’s not Halo 6, and a new Forza is bound to be on show, but what will turn heads? Maybe that game is Crackdown 3. A brand new IP to go along with a probable showing of Rare’s Sea of Thieves would be excellent.

  • Europe: 6am (CEST, Monday)

What to Expect From the Bethesda E3 2017 Press Conference

Bethesda’s E3 conferences don’t tend to have the dazzle of Microsoft’s and Sony’s, but they tend to deliver an excellent line-up of games. A new Wolfenstein has been rumoured since last year, as has The Evil Within 2. Wolfenstein: The New Colossus was secretly teased during last year’s Bethesda conference, while developer Tango Gameworks has been openly hiring for The Evil Within 2 for quite a while. Other than those two, Skyrim on Switch will likely get a runout, as will The Elder Scrolls Online and Quake Champions.

  • East Coast US: 4pm (EDT)
  • UK: 9pm (BST)
  • Europe: 10pm (CEST)

What to Expect From the Ubisoft E3 2017 Press Conference

The new Assassin’s Creed has already leaked (does a new Assassin’s Creed ever not leak?), with Assassin’s Creed Origins expected to be formally unveiled during Ubisoft’s E3 conference. The Maio/Rabbids RPG could be one of the biggest reveals if the game looks as good as is rumoured, while we’ll also get first looks at Far Cry 5 and The Crew 2. Will Ubisoft have another reveal up its sleeve? Perhaps. Splinter Cell has been sat on the shelf for a while.

PlayStation E3 2017 Press Conference Start Times

  • West Coast US: 6pm (PDT, Monday)
  • East Coast US: 9pm (EDT, Monday)
  • UK: 2am (BST, Tuesday)
  • Europe: 3am (CEST, Tuesday)

What to Expect From the PlayStation E3 2017 Press Conference

Sony has an absolute ton of games to show off at E3 2017 even if it doesn’t announce a single new title. Days Gone, Spider-man, God of War, Detroit, The Last of Us 2 and Gran Turismo Sport would make for a great showing, but a new look at Final Fantasy VII would partially bring the house down, and dare we mention Shenmue 3? Sony has excelled at tapping into nostalgia in recent years, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them announce a new title in a classic franchise.

Call of Duty WW2 and Destiny 2 are also practically nailed on for appearances, but the big question is whether or not Red Dead Redemption 2 will be shown off. Either way, Sony is set for a busy few hours.

What to Expect From the E3 2017 Nintendo Direct

Nintendo doesn’t do press conferences any more, but it will have a special E3 Nintendo Direct presentation and numerous Tree House live streams. Mario Odyssey is top of most people’s most wanted lists, but Nintendo will need to convince persistent naysayers that Switch is more than a flash in the pan success. A solid line-up of third-party AAA games would be nice, but if Nintendo can flesh out the exclusive release schedule (perhaps throwing in some ports of the best Wii U games - Hello, Super Mario 3D World!) Switch should go from strength to strength. Is it too much to hope for a new Metroid? No, but we hope every year and are usually disappointed! Maybe we’ll have to settle for a new Pokemon for Switch instead.
