Earth Defense Force 5 is Heading West on December 11

Along with some pretty sweet pre-order bonuses.

After being released in Japan late last year, Earth Defense Force 5 is finally heading west. Earth Defense Force 5 will release in North America on December 11 for PS4, with a full English voice-over.

Those who pre-order Earth Defense Force 5 will receive the following bonuses:

  • Pure Decoy Launcher 16 variations set – A special decoy which will dance and sing in the battlefield.
  • Volcanic Cracker – You can get the Wing Diver weapon and start using it from the beginning and you may only receive this weapon by pre-ordering the game.
  • Powered Exoskeleton Nix: Gold Coat – A commander machine shining with gold which boarding is admitted only by an early recruit.

As well as a standard release, Earth Defense Force 5 is also getting a Deluxe version, which adds even more bonus content. Here’s what you’ll get in the Earth Defense Force 5 Deluxe Edition.

  • Full Game
  • Deluxe Edition Bonus Content 1: EDF5 Theme
  • Deluxe Edition Bonus Content 2: Decoy Launcher [Pale Wing]
  • Deluxe Edition Bonus Content 3: Star Burst
  • 12 variations of additional weapons and support arms that will boost the power of each of the ground troops
  • Two mission packs – Available post launch contains:
  • Additional mission 1: EXTRA Challenge

Earth Defense Force 5 is set in a separate continuity than the series thus far. In this new timeline, the Earth Defense Force is a private military corporation and embarks on its first mission. The same four classes from previous games return in Earth Defense Force 5, though the ability to unlock extra armor and weapons for the classes you’re not playing as is a new addition to the series.
