Elder Scrolls Online Getting Big Morrowind Expansion in June
Wizards, Wardens, and War-Bears. Oh my!
We're probably not going to get a Skyrim Special Edition-style HD remake for Morrowind anytime soon (much as I'd love one), but maybe you can sate yourself with the upcoming Morrowind expansion for Elder Scrolls Online (ESO).
Bethesda announced the expansion on its official blog earlier today, and threw in a pretty cool trailer to boot. The expansion guides players on "a dangerous journey through legendary locales in Vvardenfell, 700 years before the events of The Elder Scrolls III." Some of the landmarks players can expect to visit are Seyda Neen, the volcanic Ashlands, and "Vivec City, still under construction in this time period."
The meaty expansion also heralds the addition of ESO's first new class since its launch: The Warden class. Wardens are powerful magic-users, but if a fight requires some particularly heavy lifting, they can summon a war-bear to pitch in with its claws and muscle.
If you just want to bash in other players' heads, look forward to the new PvP mode, which allows for arena-based 4v4v4 battles. There's also a new 12-player trial that takes place in the Telvanni tower of Tel Fyr and the Clockwork City.
If the prospect of being pals with a war-bear piques your interest, visit ESO's official site. ESO dropped its subscription fees last year, and Zenimax has been working hard to revitalize the MMO after a dull launch. Look for the Morrowind expansion on June 6.
