Elder Scrolls Online Introduces Dragons and Necromancers With Elsweyr Expansion

Let's go "someweyr els."

The next big The Elder Scrolls Online chapter will rope in dragons as the players venture into Elsweyr. The four-part story arc will roll-out over the course of 2019 in what Zenimax Online Studios is calling "The Season of the Dragon."

Elseweyr, named after the home of the Khajiit race, is the next chapter in Elder Scrolls Online. You might know the race as the cat people. For the first time in ESO, dragons will also make an appearance and players can level up the new Necromancer class.

Zenimax Online says the new Elsweyr region will be as large in size and scope as last year's Summerset zone. A new main quest will clock in at 30 hours and will introduce the Season of the Dragon, while also giving players plenty of side quests on top.

The Season of the Dragon technically begins in February with the Wrathstone DLC pack, and will continue in the Elsweyr chapter and beyond. The interconnected adventure will span all four major DLC in 2019, including the Q3 DLC dungeon pack and Q4 story DLC.

For a limited time, players who pre-purchase the digital full game edition will get the ESO base game, Summerset, and Morrowind chapters immediately. Existing players who pre-purchase Elsweyr will get an exclusive mount.

Elder Scrolls Online has continued to improve over the base game over the years. Last year's Summerset expansion was an ambitious DLC chapter, proving how Zenimax Online continues to branch out into new and interesting territory within the Elder Scrolls lore.
