Embracer Group Has 69 Unannounced Games in Development

Embracer Group might not be one of the biggest publishers in the games industry, but it sounds like they've got a pretty staggering amount of games lined up. In a press briefing, the group announced that they have a grand total of 69 unannounced games in development.

That's a lot of games. If you're unfamiliar with Embracer Group, they're the parent company of THQ Nordic, but also publish games on behalf of Deep Silver and Saber Interactive, and it's the acquisition of the latter developer that's raised their total games in development to 69.

Elsewhere in the press briefing (thanks, ResetEra), Embracer announced that they have a total of 118 games in active development, and it's 69 of these that have yet to be announced. This portfolio includes games like Biomutant, the Destroy All Humans Remake, Wasteland 3, and many, many more games.

In terms of game sales, it's actually been a banner year for THQ Nordic. The press briefing from Embracer has their game sales up 115% year-on-year, with games like Metro Exodus, Darksiders Genesis, Remnant: From the Ashes, and other titles contributing to some excellent growth overall.

Looking ahead, Embracer plans on releasing one AAA game every 12 months, starting from April 2021. There's no reason to suggest this figure couldn't rise however, if Embracer has multiple AAA games that are ready to be published in the same year. Ultimately, it's anyone's guess as to what the 69 total games in development at Embracer actually are.
