The Biggest RPG Plot Twists

The Biggest RPG Plot Twists

AXE OF THE BLOOD GOD | What are the best RPG plot twists? And the worst? Kat and Nadia explore both sides of a time-honored RPG trope.

We've reached number four in our Top 25 RPG countdown! But first, let's talk about RPG plot twists[download link here].

Big twists are a time honored tradition in RPGs. Many are directly inspired by manga series, which introduce mega plot twists as a matter of course to keep people reading. In honor of Final Fantasy 6, which features one of the bigger surprises in RPG history, Nadia and I go through our favorite twists and talk about whether or not they work.

In the second segment, we're on to Final Fantasy 6! It's not easy capturing everything that makes this game so great and important, but we do our best as we talk about everything from General Leo's death to Ultros working the reception desk in the coliseum. You can find the rest of our Top 25 RPG countdown here!
