Fall Guys Lets You Be the Blue Blur With Sonic the Hedgehog Costume

Going fast would be ideal in Fall Guys.

Fall Guys recently started its second season, and as part of this week's update, some familiar blue spikes are joining the fray. Fall Guys is getting a Sonic the Hedgehog-inspired costume.

Sega and developer Mediatonic announced today that a costume styled after the blue blur himself will arrive in Fall Guys this Wed., Oct. 14. The costume will be available for purchase for 10 crowns, so you might want to start banking those wins now if you don't want to pay cash.

Sonic will join a number of cameo costumes already in Fall Guys, ranging from Team Fortress 2's Scout to the game's own Community Director. You might raise a question about Sonic fitting in with the current look of the game, but considering it's already a brightly colored game about trying not to fall off platforms, Sonic should feel right at home. Plus, one of Fall Guys's team minigames is all about jumping through hoops, a known past-time of Sonic's.

The medieval-themed second season of Fall Guys dropped last week, with a few new stages and a new season pass full of medieval-themed costumes. We already dug the battle royale when it launched in August, and now, it seems like the multiplayer party-platformer is looking to keep moving forward with more updates.

Really, though, this has made me think about why there isn't a Sonic battle royale yet. Mario got one, so why not Sonic? 100 hedgehogs drop onto a course, only one gets the chili dog. Ball's in your court, Sega.
