Fallout 4 is Free This Weekend on Steam

Four days is just enough time to get a fraction of the way through.

Fallout 4 is the latest in Bethesda’s critically-acclaimed RPG series which– if you haven’t by now–you can play for free this weekend on Steam. The free trial starts tomorrow and lasts through the weekend. If you start early enough, you might even be able to make some real progress over the next four days.

Fallout 4 PlayStation 4 Review: Brilliant, Maddening, and Wholly Memorable

The free period begins on May 25 starting at 7 am EST/10 am PT. Players will have access to the full game as well as mod support, but unfortunately not any of the DLC. If you happen to like the long weekend of playtime, you’ll also be able to purchase the game at a 67 percent discount. The sale price will last until 7 am EST/10 am EST on May 29, giving you a full night to sleep on it if you’re still on the fence about picking up Fallout 4 after the free weekend.

Like many of Bethesda’s other modern RPGs, Fallout 4 offers players an almost ridiculous amount of content as they make their way through the post-apocalyptic United States east coast. Fallout 4 also boasts some of the best visuals of the series, making it somewhat hard to go back to the green and gray wastelands of Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.

Also, be sure to check out our Fallout 4 Guide if you need help getting our free weekend started.

Update: Fallout 4 is also free on the Xbox One with a Gold Membership.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. See our terms & conditions.
