Fallout 76 Servers are Live Now, Ahead of Schedule

For PC and physical console purchases - PS4 and Xbox One digital store buyers still need to wait.

Servers have launched for Fallout 76, so if you've happened to get your hands on the game slightly ahead of launch, then you can play it right now. Unfortunately, if you've pre-ordered the digital version of the game on PS4 or Xbox One, you'll still have to wait until the launch time of 9 pm PT/12 am ET later tonight to play Bethesda's game.

Previously, Bethesda stated that servers for Fallout 76 would only be going live at midnight in specific regions around the world. However it would seem that now midnight in Australia has rolled around, worldwide servers for the game have been activated. We've tested this on a PS4 version of the game supplied by Bethesda (a digital version that doesn't have the same unlock time as the version you can buy on the digital PSN store).

So, if you've got your copy of Fallout 76 to hand, you can take to the hills of West Virginia right now! Remember that progress from the beta earlier this month carries over to the full game.

He's written for The Guardian, Paste Magazine, and Kotaku, and he likes waking up when the sun rises and roaming the nearby woods with the bears and the wolves.
