Fallout 76's 54 GB Day One Patch is Bigger Than the Actual Game

Fallout 76's 54 GB Day One Patch is Bigger Than the Actual Game

A meaty update.

Fallout 76 is out in a week's time and now we know how much space you're going to need on the PS4 if you want to play Bethesda's online multiplayer Fallout. Funny enough the day one patch is going to be larger than the game itself.

Fallout 76 on its own is about 45GB, but reports Bethesda plans on rolling out a whopping 54GB day one patch for PS4. This patch will presumably fix a lot of the spectacular bugs players discovered during the beta testing. We know that Bethesda already patched up some major PC bugs like a speed hack player discovered that let players move faster than the allowable walking speed.

Considering Bethesda conducted numerous controlled betas, the Day One patch will hopefully fix many of the discovered problems, and some undiscovered ones as well. Though we also expect Fallout 76 to be updated regularly as more bugs are discovered.

Fallout 76 is Bethesda's first online Fallout game where players come together in post-apocalyptic West Virginia. It's quite a departure from what fans typically expect from Fallout and we're anticipating some really unforeseen bugs due to the online nature of the game. But that's nothing unusual from Bethesda launches, really.
