Fans Believe They've Figured out Exactly Where the Last of Us 2 Takes Place

There's more to the trailer than just arms being shattered.

If you're like me, you don't have any plans to watch the brutal trailer for The Last of Us 2 again. If the violent bits don't turn your stomach, however, try watching it again with a keen eye: You might gain some insight about where the game takes place, and when.

Over on the Last of Us subreddit, redditor Voldsby offers strong evidence that The Last of Us 2 takes place in or around Seattle, Washington (thanks, Eurogamer).

Voldsby incorporates highway signs, Google Maps, and even a little rudimentary knowledge about local flora to determine Last of Us 2 probably takes place in the Seattle area of the Pacific Northwest, and that its events occur years—if not decades—after the initial outbreak.

We won't know anything for certain about the plot or time frame for The Last of Us 2 until game comes out, but that's still some nice sleuthing, fandom.

The Last of Us 2 is coming to the PlayStation 4, and it's still waiting on a release date.
