Far Cry 5's entire story campaign will be fully available in co-op according to a new video released today as part of Sony's Pari Games Week conference.
The new trailer highlights the co-op options for Far Cry 5, which will build on the limited co-op opportunities in previous Far Cry games. A press release from Ubisoft confirms that after the game's tutorial, a friend can jump in with you and play through the rest of Far Cry 5 together. Earned experience and inventory items (except for quest-based items) will carry over for each player after every co-op session, but the story will only progress for the host player.
Co-op in Far Cry 5 will allow for some unique gameplay opportunities like having one player take down cultists from the ground, while another provides aerial support. As a mercenary tasked with liberating Hope County, the new "Fangs for Hire" mode lets you build up your own small mercenary outfit to help with the fight against the Eden's Gate Cult.
Far Cry 5 comes out on February 27 for PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro, Xbox One and One X, and PC.
