Far Cry 5's First DLC Will Shift the Setting From Montana to Vietnam When it Launches Next Month

From Montana to Vietnam.

The first Far Cry 5 post-launch DLC will be out on June 5 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The DLC, titled Hours of Darkness, will transports players to the Vietnam War where they'll be playing as a familiar face from Hope County.

The post-launch DLC for Far Cry 5 will have players take the role of Wendell "Red" Redler back during his Vietnam War days. He has to find and rescue his fellow squad members from the enemy forces captured during the war.

The mode will be playable in either solo or online co-op and Ubisoft is promising new gear and abilities to go along with the new setting. As a bonus, there will be two different playable modes which will be unlocked after finishing the DLC: Survivor Mode and Action Movie mode.

If you're a fan of the Far Cry Arcade, new Vietnam War-theme assets will become available after the DLC releases.

The next DLC after Hours of Darkness will be Lost on Mars and Dead Living Zombies, which will be released in July and August respectively. No points for guessing what those DLC stories will be about.

If you have the Season Pass you'll be getting the DLC as part of the package, if not you can purchase the DLC individually for $11.99.

Far Cry 5 first came out earlier this year in March and our review found the game a fun romp. Albeit one that never really sticks the landing of its narrative potential. The story involves a militant cult that takes over the rural Montana area of Hope County. It has the freeform action that makes Far Cry games fun to play, but lacks a certain bite.
