Aeria Games has announced F.E.A.R. Online, the latest chapter in the FPS-horror series F.E.A.R. The free-to-play, team-based title is being developed by Korean studio Inplay Interactive, and will include ten different maps and multiple game modes. The events of F.E.A.R. Online will run parallel to those in F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.

"We are thrilled to present the next entry in one of the most popular horror franchises of the last decade," said Aeria Games' vice president of PC games Tom Nichols. "F.E.A.R Online will bring back the tense, heart-pounding action that the series is known for and make it accessible to a huge online community of competitive players."

No one like the creepy psychic girl.

Aeria Games already operates titles like Dynasty Warriors Online and Battlefield Heroes in the United States. Inplay has been working on F.E.A.R. Online under the title F.E.A.R. Origin Online since the company's announcement in October of 2011. Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment made a significant investment in the game in early 2012, becoming a major shareholder in Inplay. At the time, F.E.A.R. Origin Online was expected to launch in late 2012. Inplay is planning to create other online titles using Warner Bros properties in the future.

"The investment of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment strengthens the Korean development capability of online games to the world," said Inplay CEO Chang Sung Rhee.
