FIFA 20 looks set to add in a bunch of new features, including a replacement for The Journey single-player mode that has been a part of the series for the last three years. Volta will be the new mode to take its place, essentially an homage to FIFA Street. Volta will reintroduce street-based football to the series, bringing a whole host of new gameplay mechanics and features along with it. In this FIFA 20 Volta Guide, we’ll detail all you need to know about the new FIFA Street-like mode. We’ll detail the new gameplay mechanics that will be introduced, alongside all of the new skill trees and story options that will also be available.
FIFA 20 Volta - Is it a New FIFA Street
Longtime fans of the FIFA series will no doubt recognize Volta, given that it is being touted as a spiritual successor to FIFA Street. It isn’t quite a new FIFA Street game though, more of a mix between the modern FIFA games and a more scrappy, street-led football, built from the ground up in the Frostbite Engine. It will take players all over the globe, allowing for a multitude of new kick-off options and playstyles.
FIFA 20 Volta Gameplay
The gameplay for FIFA 20 Volta looks to be an excellent blend of street-style football and modern FIFA mechanics. Several features like wall passes, lobs, and self-passes have all been redesigned, having been staples of the FIFA Street games that the mode is inspired by. EA has already released a bunch of new footage showing off new Volta gameplay, and you can check out the latest FIFA 20 Volta trailer embedded above:
