Tomorrow is the online version of EA Play, where Electronic Arts will showcase its upcoming games for the year and the new generation of consoles. While FIFA 21 is set to make an appearance, a new schedule released today seems to indicate that we won't see everything all at once.
Posted to EA's Twitter earlier today, the publisher plans to roll out news about its upcoming soccer sim throughout the month of August. This includes gameplay, info on various modes like Career and Ultimate Team, an update on Volta, and Pro Clubs. We know FIFA 21 will make an appearance at the show, signs are currently pointing towards this being a first look rather than any sort of deep dive.
Volta news is of specific interest, as the street-styled version of FIFA soccer is still a fledgling mode compared to Ultimate Team. But with a new generation of consoles on the horizon, a little more time devoted specifically to what FIFA 21 is changing and building up seems like a good idea.
As for what we can expect from EA Play Live, a digital press conference set for the newly established, online-only Not E3 era, we already have a few confirmations. More info on the recently revealed Star Wars: Squadrons, as well as the new game from the developer of A Way Out, are set to be unveiled. And EA is also expected to unveil one more EA Sports franchise to join its usual roster of Madden, FIFA, and NHL. Even with less FIFA news than fans might expect, it'll still be a packed presentation.
