Final Fantasy 14 Themed Weddings Let You Level Up Your Relationship for the Bargain Price of $30,000

Final Fantasy 14 Themed Weddings Let You Level Up Your Relationship for the Bargain Price of $30,000

They say you can't put a price on true love, but what about Final Fantasy props?

Common destination weddings include scenic locations like Hawaii, or the Caribbean, but what about Eorzea the fictional world of Final Fantasy 14? Okay, Eorzea doesn't exist but Square Enix has partnered with wedding service company Bridal Hearts for the next best thing: A Final Fantasy 14 themed wedding.

The wedding ceremony is designed to resemble Final Fantasy 14's in-game "Eternal Bonding Ceremony" wedding event. It sounds like there will be several packages, but a standard plan for 70 guests will run you 3.5 million yen (or $31,500 USD).

For that price you'll receive matching tuxedo and wedding dress modeled after the outfits in Final Fantasy 14; in-game assets used as background images and video to decorate the proceedings; replicas of in-game job weapons for both the bride and groom; a Final Fantasy themed cake and full menu with themed food and drinks, and Final Fantasy music to soundtrack the whole event.

The wedding package was demoed in Japan on Valentine's Day with Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida in attendance. You can see some pictures for how the wedding service might look below.

This will be a real wedding service so don't just grab a buddy to try this with for the novelty of it. Still, according to Value Penguin, the average cost of a wedding is about $30,000 in the U.S. for 140 guests, so it's not actually that much more expensive than getting wed at a standard venue. And I'm willing to be those other venues won't have virtual Moogles flying around the reception.

If you're just looking for more Final Fantasy 14 stuff to do without getting married, Square Enix is readying the launch of its next expansion Shadowbringers. You can read our full coverage for the next expansion in our Final Fantasy 14 Shadowbringers recap.
